How the calculations work

Daily DM = head count × weight × intake percentage (or head count × direct DM). Each ingredient’s consumed fresh weight = DM share ÷ dry-matter fraction. Offered weight = consumed fresh weight ÷ (1 − loss fraction). Purchase amount = max(0, offered daily weight × days − ingredient stock). Prices apply per kg as-fed. Crude protein supply uses consumed DM × protein percentage on a DM basis.
